È dicembre, sei circondato dal tepore del tuo accogliente salotto, risplendente delle
luci scintillanti dell’albero di Natale, senti il desiderio di trovare qualcosa di
coinvolgente da guardare in tv, tuttavia qualcosa va storto, al momento della
ricerca, infatti, ti accorgi che in tv la programmazione lascia a desiderare. Ecco
quindi la nostra personale “top 5 cartoni natalizi” che renderanno il tuo Natale
ancora più speciale.
Polar Express (2004)
Questo film di animazione in 3D racconta la storia di un ragazzino che non crede a
Babbo Natale ma che, proprio durante la vigilia di Natale, vivrà un avventura
straordinaria sul Polar Express, treno diretto al Polo Nord per incontrare Babbo
Natale.
Il film è tratto dall’omonimo romanzo per Ragazzi uscito in Italia il 3 Dicembre del
2004 ed ha incassato in tutto il mondo 313.500.433$ a fronte di un budget di
165.000.000$ ricevendo inoltre tre nomination ai premi Oscar: “Miglior Canzone”,
“Miglior Sonoro” e “Miglior Montaggio Sonoro”.
Il pupazzo di neve
“Il pupazzo di neve (The Snowman)”, conosciuto anche con i titoli “L’uomo di neve” o
“The Snowman – L’uomo di neve”, è un cortometraggio d’animazione televisivo, della
durata di 26 minuti, basato sul libro illustrato omonimo dell’illustratore Raymond
Briggs e diretto da Dianne Jackson. Venne trasmesso per la prima volta il 26
dicembre 1982. Il cortometraggio fu un successo fin dalla sua prima trasmissione nel
1982 ed è ancora oggi trasmesso nel Regno Unito durante le festività natalizie. Il
cortometraggio racconta la storia dell’incontro di un bambino di nome James che, in
una notte invernale, fa amicizia con un pupazzo di neve da lui stesso costruito in
giardino. Sarà prima il pupazzo a conoscere il mondo degli umani, poi
successivamente sarà James a partire con lui per un viaggio avventuroso, che si
concluderà con una bellissima sorpresa. La storia è muta, ad eccezione della
canzone Walking in the Air, ma è accompagnata da una piacevole colonna sonora
realizzata dal compositore Howard Blake. La musica orchestrale è eseguita dalla
Sinfonia of London e la canzone cantata da Peter Auty, corista della Cattedrale di
San Paolo di Londra. Il cortometraggio è disponibile gratuitamente su Rai Play. Nel

2012 uscì un “sequel” di 25 minuti chiamato “The Snowman and the Snowdog” il
quale venne trasmesso su Channel 4 per festeggiare i 30 anni del cartone originale.
Topolino strepitoso Natale!
Topolino strepitoso Natale! (Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas) è un film
d’animazione natalizio direct-to-video del 2004 diretto da Matthew O’Callaghan che
piacerà a tutta la famiglia. È il sequel di Topolino e la magia del Natale (1999), di cui
riprende lo schema: è infatti composto di cinque segmenti non correlati tra di loro
con protagonisti i personaggi Disney, presentati in questo caso tramite un libro
animato. Tuttavia, a differenza del film precedente, è realizzato in animazione 3D al
computer. Nel doppiaggio italiano ci furono diversi cambiamenti e problemi: Viene
cambiata la voce di Max, il figlio di Pippo, che non è più doppiato da Fabrizio De
Flaviis come nel film “Topolino e la magia del Natale” ma dalla sua voce abituale
Simone Crisari data l’età adulta del personaggio e (come nella versione in lingua
originale) è anche cambiato il narratore, perché Paolo Lombardi ha preso il posto di
Michele Kalamera. Nei dialoghi di “Missione Natale” è presente un errore di
adattamento, dato che in una scena Quo viene erroneamente chiamato Qui da
quello che è in realtà il vero Qui. Un altro errore è presente ne “Il regalo di
Paperino”, dove in più casi la cioccolata calda viene erroneamente chiamata
cioccolato. Il film è disponibile su Disney+ o in DVD.
Papà Natale
“Papà Natale” o “Santa’s Workshop” è un cortometraggio di animazione del 1932
diretto da Wilfred Jackson. Il film è incluso nella collana Sinfonie allegre basato sul
personaggio di Santa Claus. Le sinfonie allegre, più conosciute come Silly
Symphonies, sono una raccolta di cortometraggi 75 cortometraggi Disney usciti tra il
1929 e il 1939. In protagonisti di questi corti non sono i classici personaggi come
Topolino, Paperino o Pippo. I temi principali, ad esempio, sono: la natura, gli animali
e vari mondi di fantasia (come quello dei dolci o della musica). Questo cartone
Disney, ambientato nel laboratorio di Babbo Natale, ci mostra come vengono
realizzati i giocattoli per i bambini di tutto il mondo. Lo stesso Babbo Natale testa i
prodotti e decide quali possono essere messi nel sacco. Il cartone ha riscontrato
molto successo tanto da ricevere un seguito chiamato “La notte di Natale” dove
Papà Natale si occupa della distribuzione dei regali. In particolare, si occupa di
addobbare e lasciare i doni in una casa piena di bambini poveri. Entrambi i
cortometraggi sono stati inseriti nel DVD “Favoloso Natale con gli Amici Disney!” e
sono disponibili su Disney
Il Canto di Natale di Topolino

L’ultimo film che vi vogliamo consigliare, “Il Canto di Natale di Topolino”, è un
classico dell’animazione Disney e non solo. Ha ricevuto fin da subito recensioni
positive tanto da essere inserito in molti cofanetti Disney tra i quali: “Treasures:
Topolino star a colori – Vol. 2” e “Il bianco Natale di Topolino – È festa in casa
Disney”. È un cortometraggio animato della serie Mickey Mouse, prodotto dalla
Walt Disney Productions e uscito nel Regno Unito il 20 ottobre 1983 mentre in Italia
il 23 dicembre, distribuito dalla Buena Vista Distribution Company. È tratto dal
racconto di Charles Dickens Canto di Natale (1843), con Topolino nel ruolo di Bob
Cratchit e Paperon de’ Paperoni in quello del suo omonimo e ispirazione Ebenezer
Scrooge (“Scrooge McDuck” è infatti il suo nome originale). Molti altri personaggi
Disney, sia dell’universo di Topolino che dei classici Disney compaiono nel film come
ad esempio Pippo nel ruolo del fantasma di Jacob Marley oppure il Grillo Parlante in
quello dello Spirito del Natale Passato . Il film fu candidato per un Oscar al miglior
cortometraggio d’animazione ai Premi Oscar 1984. La trama è identica a quella del
classico romanzo di Dickens fatta eccezione per alcune piccole differenze, come ad
esempio la rottura e l’addio tra Scrooge e Isabella che nel film avviene in modo
drammatico e infelice (dove vedremo che il protagonista negherà alla amata
addirittura il mutuo sul cottage per la luna di miele), mentre nel romanzo di Dickens
avverrà in modo apparentemente amichevole tra i due. La trama è la seguente: È la
viglia di Natale e tutta l’Inghilterra vittoriana è nello spirito allegro del Natale.
L’unico che sembra essere insensibile allo spirito del Natale è il vecchio Ebenezer
Scrooge, un uomo ricchissimo e senza cuore. Tra i suoi dipendenti c’è Bob Cratchit,
un uomo sempre allegro e gentile che, a causa del risibile stipendio che riceve, è
costretto a tirare la cinghia anche a Natale. Ma proprio durante la notte di Natale
Scrooge riceverà le visite di 3 Spiriti. Lo spirito del Natale passato, presente e futuro
e, quando si sveglierà, la sua vita non sarà la stessa.
