Michael Jackson, il cantante e ballerino più famoso e acclamato
della storia del pop il quale ha pubblicato nella sua intera vita 10
album, non contando i 2 pubblicati postumi la sua morte
(“Michael” e “Xscape”) arrivando quindi ad un totale di 12 album.
Ma come mai parliamo di lui? Semplice! Il 2 dicembre uscirà su
Paramount+ il documentario “Thriller 40” che avrà il compito di
ripercorrere la realizzazione di uno degli album più importanti del
cantante “Thriller”. L’album uscì il 29 novembre 1982; da allora il
resto è storia. Il documentario, in onda su Paramount+ e su MTV,
è stato realizzato del regista Nelson George il quale cercherà di
portare i fans indietro nel tempo per rivivere la creazione di un
album che ha segnato la storia della musica e imposto i paradigmi
della produzione di video musicali. Perché, come recita,
l’introduzione del docufilm: “Ci sono solo due cose nel music
business: prima di “Thriller” e dopo “Thriller”. All’interno del
documentario parecchi filmati inediti e interviste esclusive, tra cui
Usher, Mary J. Blige, Will.I.Am, Mark Ronson, Misty Copeland,
Maxwell e John Landis. Colin Hanks, Sean Stuart, John Branca e
John McClain sono i produttori del documentario. (Optimum
Productions e Company Name). Nel trailer si possono vedere le
varie fasi del processo di produzione dell’album, i video musicali,
il moonwalk (che Jackson fece debuttare allo speciale Motown 25
del 1983) e la risonanza globale del progetto e della mente
geniale che l’ha ideato. Il documentario includerà anche dei
filmati inediti di Michael Jackson, oltre che di chi ha collaborato
con lui, risalenti al periodo della scrittura e della registrazione del
disco. Il video del brano Thriller è divenuto uno dei più famosi a
livello mondiale trainando le vendite dell’album verso quote
irragiungibili; ad oggi il disco è il più venduto di sempre. Il primo
passaggio televisivo del videoclip è avvenuto il 2 dicembre del
1983 su MTV. A distanza di quasi quarant’anni il filmato conta
oltre 900.000.000 visualizzazioni su YouTube. Non ci resta quindi
che aspettare il 2 dicembre per scoprire cosa avrà in servo per noi
questo “docufilm” sull’album più venduto di Michael Jackson.
