Profit e no profit: quando la sintesi è possibile

Una lunga esperienza nell’ambito del no profit, e la possibilità di collaborare con alcune delle personalità più brillanti e note nel mondo del mondo del volontariato e delle missioni in Africa, hanno poi fatto il resto.

La redazione di Comete.info ha intervistato Alberto Corbino con l’intento di testimoniare un esempio di impegno civico responsabile e sostenibile. L’incontro ha permesso di raccontare due importanti realtà, la prima della quali, ben consolidata, è relativa al progetto “mamamzungu”, che ha consentito a donne africane affette da albinismo di superare la condizione di estrema emarginazione a cui sembravano condannate per rendersi protagoniste attive di una società di produzione e vendita di saponi naturali artigianali. L’albinismo, ha spiegato Alberto Corbino, soprattutto in alcune zone rurali dell’Africa sud-sahariana è causa di maltrattamenti e gravi forme di emarginazione. I bambini che nascono affetti da tale patologia, addirittura, in alcuni casi, vengono trattati come bestie pericolose, se non come creature abitate da spiriti malefici, e tenuti chiusi in gabbia, o, nei casi meno gravi, emarginati e allontanati da tutti. Per questo, la possibilità di essere accolti in una casa famiglia creata ad hoc, e poter essere assistiti nella fase di formazione e crescita, rappresenta un passo fondamentale nel miglioramento delle condizioni di vita loro e delle famiglie di origine, spesso costrette ad abbandonarli, non potendo permettersi di accudirli in sicurezza. Mentre per i bambini, dunque, la fondazione Cariello Corbino, in sinergia con altre realtà di beneficienza, provvede all’accoglienza e all’istruzione scolastica, per le donne, la cui condizione, in molte zone arretrate dell’Africa, è già molto difficile, provvede ad un percorso di formazione imprenditoriale, al termine del quale esse sono in grado di produrre e mettere in vendita i saponi naturali, le creme e le lozioni per il corpo che il sito https://www.mamamzungu.co/ mette in vendita.
