Da qui la decisione di bloccare e limitare diversi social, come Facebook e Twitter, in quanto accusati di discriminare i media russi e di violare i diritti umani di quest’ultimi.
Che in Russia ci siano grossi problemi per la libertà di informazione non è una novità, in particolare per quanto riguarda i media.
La scelta di bloccare il social network creato da Mark Zuckerberg, ha spiegato Roskomnadzor, è stata presa perché, secondo l’autorità russa, sono stati registrati ben 26 casi di discriminazione contro i media russi.
Alcune ore dopo il blocco degli accessi a Facebook, anche Twitter, il social più utilizzato dai giornalisti per diffondere informazioni e articoli, ha subito un’azione simile.
Il governo russo sta introducendo passo dopo passo leggi restrittive che colpiscono non solo i giornalisti ma anche la libertà di espressione in generale.
