Dopo una settimana di schede bianche, si è giunti alla riconferma del presidente uscente.
Dopo l’ottava votazione, evento storico per il nostro paese, si è giunti alla riconferma dell’ex presidente avvenuto con lo scrutinio delle 21, grazie alla mediazione del premier Draghi, che avrebbe convinto Mattarella a ricandidarsi e anche grazie all’incontro dei capipartito che avrebbero ottenuto l’ok per la ricandidatura.
Il giuramento è previsto per mercoledì per le 16: non mancano però le tensioni nel cdx, dove Matteo Salvini si era reso favorevole a ricandidare Mattarella per il bene del paese fino a Giorgia Meloni- contraria alla rielezione del presidente uscente.
Durante questa settimana, abbiamo assistito a scontri tra la maggioranza che rischiavano di spaccare l’esecutivo per la mancanza di un candidato comune.
Tanti sono stati i candidati papabili per il Quirinale: dalla possibilità di un presidente donna, con i nomi di Cartabia, Casellati, candidata dal centrodestra per la quinta votazione con 382 voti e il nome di Belloni candidata M5S e ex capo dei servizi segreti, fino al tentativo di candidatura di Berlusconi che ha ritirato la sua candidatura per questioni di unità nazionale e appoggiato la ricandidatura di Mattarella.
Infine, i nomi di Mario Draghi, la cui salita al colle avrebbe portato a una crisi di governo in un momento molto delicato per l’esecutivo sia per le tensioni tra Russia e Ucraina sia per l’aumento delle bollette del gas, fino al centrista Casini che ha ritirato la sua candidatura per appoggiare Mattarella.
Alla fine, ha prevalso il nome di Mattarella che avrebbe voluto evitare una ricandidatura per scongiurare il precedente Napolitano, ma ha accettato, ponendo come condizioni l’unità delle forze di maggioranza e l’incontro con i gruppi parlamentari perché richiedessero la sua candidatura.
La legislatura è salva: Draghi rimarrà a Palazzo Chigi, nonostante voci insistenti lo volessero al Colle, ma per il governo saranno mesi duri e il compito di Mattarella sarà il più duro di sempre.
Per mesi, le forze politiche hanno tirato per la giacchetta un presidente che si era ritenuto contrario alla sua rielezione per motivi costituzionali, ritenendo la seconda elezione come uno schiaffo alla Costituzione.
Tuttavia, dietro il suo rifiuto alla candidatura c’erano anche motivazioni personali: il desiderio di lasciare libera la figlia Laura e riprendere gli incontri con i suoi conoscenti e amici ridotti all’osso durante il suo settennato.
Mercoledì, Mattarella giurerà per l’ultima volta al Colle in un quadro politico sempre più turbolento.
