Zerocalcare, per gli appassionati di fumettistica, non è certamente un nome sconosciuto: nel settore, infatti, opera dai primi anni del duemila, ma in quest’ultimo mese è stato sulla bocca di tutti per la serie realizzata in collaborazione con Netflix, Strappare Lungo I Bordi, in cui è stato anche doppiatore della maggior parte dei personaggi. L’opera, sei episodi da poco più di venti minuti, ha sconvolto il mondo social per la lingua tagliente del protagonista. Momenti di profonda riflessione si alternano ad altri decisamente più comici, conditi dal personaggio dell’Armadillo (la voce della coscienza), doppiato da Valerio Mastrandrea.
Nella serie, Zero racconta la sua vita con continui salti dall’infanzia all’età adulta, passando per l’adolescenza, con la costante presenza dei suoi migliori amici, Sarah, Secco e Alice, ragazza a cui non è mai riuscito a dichiararsi. Senza fare spoiler, il finale ha sorpreso molti spettatori: preparate fazzoletti e cuscini da stringere. Nessuno si aspettava, alla fine di una serie animata tratteggiata da cadenza romana e battute di ogni sorta, di doversi asciugare le lacrime. Attraverso l’ironia e il cinismo, Zero racconta come la maggior parte di noi tenda ad andare lenti, perché ci sembra sempre di avere tempo, come se, a un certo punto, ‘strappare lungo i bordi’ della nostra vita possa essere l’unico compito che ci compete, dato che tutti gli altri lo fanno.
Il mix di profondità e divertimento ha fatto impazzire la critica, e innescato una sorta di consenso di massa che, però, non è stato unanime. In particolare, la forte cadenza romana ha fatto, in alcuni casi, storcere il naso: ci si è chiesti perché entrare nella forma dialettale, ostica per alcuni, quando si poteva doppiare la serie in italiano ‘corretto’. In realtà, da sempre il romano è una caratteristica stilistica di Zerocalcare, che ha proprio dichiarato di aver scelto consapevolmente di mischiare l’italiano e il suo dialetto: il romano, dice, è la lingua che usa per parlare in maniera liberatoria, e lo aiuta a districarsi da eventi (quelli della sua vita) che raccontati in italiano sarebbero risultati più asettici. In realtà, per chiunque avesse davvero difficoltà a comprenderlo, Netflix offre la comodissima opzione dei sottotitoli italiani, così da poter ‘tradurre’ le espressioni più complicate. Questo ostacolo, che tanto ostacolo non è, non può impedire di vedere un piccolo gioiello dell’animazione italiana.
