Il 27 gennaio è la data scelta dall’Assemblea delle Nazioni Unite per celebrare la ‘’Giornata internazionale di commemorazione in memoria delle vittime della Shoah’’ con il fine di ricordare gli orrori e le milioni di vittime di uno dei più grandi genocidi della storia dell’umanità.
6 milioni di ebrei, 300.000 zingari di etnia Rom e Sinti, 300.000 disabili mentali o ‘fisici’, 100.000 oppositori politici del regime nazista, 25.000 omosessuali. Questi i numeri agghiaccianti del genocidio nazista.
In Italia è stata una legge del 20 luglio del 2000 ad istituire il 27 gennaio come ‘Giorno della Memoria’ per ricordare, oltre alla Shoah, anche le leggi razziali approvate sotto il fascismo, la persecuzione dei cittadini ebrei, tutti gli Italiani che hanno subito la deportazione, la prigionia, la morte e tutti coloro che si opposero al progetto di sterminio mettendo a rischio la propria vita per salvare quella di altre persone.

Ciò può portare a commettere gli stessi errori. Al giorno d’oggi, poi, la presenza dei social diventa mezzo facile per fare propaganda al fine di diffondere odio e menzogne verso ebrei, neri, musulmani e categorie deboli in generale. Sono numerose le fake news presenti sulle piattaforme di social network che spesso portano gli utenti, offuscati dall’ignoranza, a scagliarsi contro tutti coloro che reputano diversi e soprattutto che non considerano essere umani.“ Temo di vivere abbastanza per vedere cose che pensavo la Storia avesse definitivamente bocciato, invece erano solo sopite” ha concluso Liliana Segre.
