Gli autori Roberto Marrone e Antonio Borrelli presentano La Fabbrica Fantastica e Le misure della distanza
“La periferia è il nuovo centro”. È questa la lapidaria tesi di Roberto Marrone e Antonio Borrelli che, durante il Salone del Libro. hanno presentato i loro testi “La Fabbrica Fantastica” e “Le Misure della distanza”.
Partendo dalla travagliata situazione della periferia di Ponticelli gli autori hanno esteso il loro discorso all’intera situazione di “periferizzazione” dei centri urbani occidentali a causa della forte delocalizzazione delle risorse e del capitale umano.
“Il problema della contemporaneità è proprio questo: non dobbiamo andare più verso il centro e le periferie non devono essere più tali, ma devono essere dei luoghi decentrati con la loro identità all’interno di un disegno generale di emancipazione collettiva. In Italia l’80% delle persone vive in periferia, attualmente sinonimo di disagio e di povertà.” Roberto Marrone, dunque, propone come antidoto al problema del degrado periferico un totale ripensamento e superamento dello stesso concetto di periferia.
“La periferia deve essere una fascia della città con pari importanza delle altre: il centro deve sparire. Il potere nelle città deve essere diffuso, non centralizzato come ora, dove il centro è tutto. Questo modello deve essere superato non solo attraverso le istituzioni politiche ma anche attraverso la riscoperta del senso di comunità.” Senso di comunità che sia per Borrelli sia per Marrone risulta essere fondamentale per ripensare l’attuale assetto urbano delle città.
La tradizione può giocare un ruolo fondamentale nel recupero della diversità delle varie fasce della città e nel cambiamento delle attuali degradate zone periferiche che sono quelle che meglio rappresentano le realtà cittadine. Il cambiamento non è impossibile, come cercano di dimostrare o due autori in entrambi i testi dove, pur descrivendo situazioni negative, si lancia un messaggio di speranza per la rinascita di luoghi dimenticati dalla politica.
