Il giorno 4 maggio, nella splendida cornice del Museo Ferroviario di Pietrarsa, si dà inizio alle numerose attività previste dal Salone del libro 2023: dopo il consuetudinario taglio del nastro, 4 giovani sassofonisti del liceo Francesco Saveri di Castellammare di Stabia accompagnano la cerimonia di inaugurazione. Alla manifestazione aderiscono numerose scuole provenienti da tutto il territorio regionale.
Il salone monumentale del Museo ferroviario di Pietrarsa è gremito di spettatori di ogni età. In prima fila le autorità militari e civili del territorio. Il Direttore del Museo nazionale di Pietrarsa, Oreste Orvitti, tiene il discorso d’apertura. A seguire il saluto del sindaco di Portici, Vincenzo Cuomo, che ringrazia la dirigente scolastica del Liceo Quinto Orazio Flacco, Prof.ssa Iolanda Giovidelli, e l’intero corpo docenti:
“La Prof.ssa Giovidelli ha voluto arricchire la nostra società di un’infrastruttura immateriale.”
È il turno dell’assessore al turismo della regione Campania Felice Casucci che prende la parola:
“Siamo stati capaci di introdurre l’elemento umanistico, che è la matrice del Salone del Libro anche nel turismo. L’esperienza del viaggio accompagna da sempre la letteratura.”
Nonostante Giuseppe Valditara, Ministro dell’istruzione e del merito, non abbia potuto partecipare per motivi logistici, ha inviato al Salone del Libro a distanza con una lettera di ringraziamenti. Il presentatore passa la parola al direttore dell’ufficio scolastico regionale, Ettore Acerra, che racconta il mondo della scuola, DNA di questa manifestazione.
“Libri in viaggio è uno spunto particolarmente interessante. Sono sempre stato accompagnato nei miei viaggi in treno da un libro di carta.”
Il direttore ribadisce che avere il coraggio di investire sul Salone del Libro è un atto pedagogico di grande valore. Arriva il turno del giovane poeta Davide Avolio, che recita i versi di Itaca di Costantino Kavafis. È la preside Giovidelli a chiudere la cerimonia di inaugurazione. La dirigente scolastica porge i saluti e ringrazia le personalità più importanti del mondo scolastico e imprenditoriale presenti al Salone del Libro. Ha cura di omaggiare anche i professori e le professoresse Salvatore Bottega, Olga Cirillo, Ennio Ecuba, Giuseppina Palazzo, Stefania Vicario, Anna Perno e Raffaella Chiacchio per il loro instancabile impegno.
Per me il viaggio è l’espressione della vita e rappresenta la crescita dei ragazzi che coltiviamo con il concime della cultura. La scuola è una grande agenzia culturale – conclude commuovendosi la dirigente Iolanda Giovidelli. L’inaugurazione si chiude sulle note dell’ orchestra sinfonica scuola Saveri di Castellammare di Stabia.
